What civilization or nation deserves to have its own TL?

Instead of timelines about empire building through conquest, I'd like to see one about a region or subset of a kingdom/empire that becomes more and more autonomous that it basically becomes its own nation in all but name. In OTL Japan, the Northern Fujiwara clan ruled the northern third of the island of Honshu and their capital at Hiraizumi rivaled the imperial capital at Kyoto in its splendor. In an ATL I'd like to see this clan become even richer and more autonomous than OTL by monopolizing the fur trade with Hokkaido, Sakhalin, and coastal Siberia. As time progresses we'd see how Japanese trade goods and technology transform the fortunes of the eastern Siberian tribes, which would impact their neighbors in Manchuria and Mongolia.

I've got a soft spot for the pre-Islamic Sogdians, and would love to see something with a Manichean polity in Transoxiana making some waves both to the East and West.

We really need more frankish timeliness I have written my own but I'm not a great or even a mediocre writer

It's insane how ignored various frankish state's are even caroligian one's and the merovigians the influence of the Frank's simply can't be overstated to modern Europe and the existence of nations of france,Belgium,Netherlands,Austria, germany and even England,Italy,Hungary, denmark the Frank's also established two of long lasting and influence political entities King Of France And the Holy Roman Empire Of the Germanic nation

that was actually one of my ideas I had but i chose the option that in tang central asia the turks were the most imporant group the sogdians were still a large part of the tang rule in central asia hence why i chose a more pluralistic sogdian turkic state with a lot of chinise influence

Honestly I think often it’s specific periods and POD which is ignored.

So example on things which I thought could be interesting

A successful New Sweden or New Netherlands. These sometimes survive in timelines, but they’re rarely shown how they would have developed.

Denmark-Norway which doesn’t turn absolutist in 1660, while I think the rise of Danish absolutism was a good thing for Denmark, it could have been interesting how Denmark would have developed without the royal auto-coup.

Europe without a French Revolution (or a more limited one).

Glory to the Irish Empire and the Gaelic language. Let’s hope there wouldn’t be a Scottish/English/Welsh famine. Wonder which one of those would be more vulnerable to famine?
There was a pretty horrific one in Scotland during the late 1700s if I recall correctly. Maybe that’s where the Irish also set up their equivelant to Ulster? There was a lot of Irish immigration to Galloway and Glasgow in OTL....I mean it’s the whole reason Scotland even exists.

I feel like a TL focused on a surviving Majapahit thalassocracy would be really interesting. There's lots of interesting content that could be made about how they manage religious pluralism, the degree of centralisation or not, competing with European colonialism and relations with the polities of the Philippines. Maybe even an extension of power over Ryukyu and Formosa?
Majapahit vassal Tungning anybody? How would Majapahit rulers deal with piracy?

I think there's massive alt-history potential with Morocco. I'm sure someone has probably already done a TL I'm not aware of with Moroccan colonialism in the Caribbean. Jamestown destroyed by Barbary pirates? Guess the Croatan mystery is solved (lol).

Early PoDs are generally harder, but a minimised Germanic settlement in Wendish/Sorbian lands would be interesting. Hard to avoid given that many of the Germans in that area were invited by Slavic lords for the reason of MOAR TAX, but surely there's a work around. A surviving Carantania also probably butterflies the Habsburgs and changes European history drastically. Speaking of Slav-wanks, im sure someone has done it at some point but a Stefan Dusan becomes Byzantine Emperor TL would be super interesting.

A Tsarisr Russia collapse creating a Buddhist nomadic Kalmyk empire at odds with the north caucasian Muslims?

Theres a million potential PODs in the Chinese 20th century warlord period. Guominjun coming to power would be interesting, with an initially mildly pro-Soviet (but probably more non-aligned if they took full control) but Christian socialist government in a non-Christian country.
