Possible capital of a Hashemite-ruled Arabia

In an Arabia ruled by the Hashemites, what could be its capital

  • Medina

  • Jeddah

As the question (and the poll) said, what particular city could be the capital of a Hashemite Kingdom of Arabia, given the PoD (e.g. India Office was favored by the British government and the Hashemites have a better relationship with the merchant elite of Hejaz). Could it impact the economic development of the surrounding region, not just political and even cultural?

Jeddah probably is most practical capital. When non-Muslims not be allowed come to Mecca and probably very limited to Medina these would be bit difficult when someone non-Muslim foreing leader or businessman is visiting in Hashemite Arabia. I don't know what kind of economic impact this has.

I can see Medina being the capital, with the non-Muslim area being very small and a large section of the city set aside for foreigners.
