As Dreamers Do Part Deux

For the 30th anniversary of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, the only animated feature to be made by Danjaq/Williams, this is what the updated intro would look like...

Last year, for the 20th anniversary of Rain Man, this was the intro:

Dear Tiffany,
What is your routine when you travel to road games?

Sincerely,
Gisele Mendoza
La Mesa, California

Tiffany Disney
"First, Joyce and I wake up, change each other's diapers and get dressed. For long road trips, our butler helps us with Lex, who is now 3."

"On my way to morning skate, I sometimes grab a breakfast sandwich at Jack in the Box or a mocha latte at Starbucks. Then, I pull up to the Hall of Champions, which is next door to the Sempra Energy Center. The Hall of Champions actually used to be the original Sports Arena. But Dad kept the seating bowl and floorspace intact to serve as a practice rink for us, sometimes a practice court for the Clippers and a place to host other smaller events. Basically, it's both a Hall of Fame for San Diego sports figures and the Disney version of Madison Square Garden's Felt Forum."

"While I watch the boys have their morning skate, my equipment staff packs up all the gear the players will need for the trip. Each player brings at least five sticks, mainly to have extras in case one gets broken during a game. The sticks are actually packed separately from the rest of the equipment each player will bring in their travel bags. We bring extra blades and each arena will have a machine available for visiting teams to sharpen blades if necessary."

"We use your standard U-Haul to carry all that gear from our practice rink to the airport."

"In the tunnels of the Hall of Champions, we have an area for the players to have their TSA screenings before we board buses to the airport. Then, we board our private plane."

"When Joyce comes with me to road trips, we still bring our own diapers in our carry-on luggage. In previous years, FedEx would send extra diapers to our hotel room in each city. Now, they told me it would be easier for them to send me the extra diapers to my house two or three days in advance and have our medical and equipment crews load them into the cargo bay on the day of our flight leaving San Diego. When we land and get to our hotel, Joyce and I bring the extras with us to each arena, just in case a game goes into multiple overtimes or a shootout, and to wear on each subsequent flight until we come home."

Dear Tiffany,

It's been a year since Jeff Bewkes was fired from Bally. Yet, your dad is still friends with him. How's that so?

Sincerely,
Mauricio Estrada

"Bewkes was the guy that convinced the HBO brass to take a chance on Urusei Yatsura. Before that, my dad offered Urusei Yatsura to Showtime, but those guys rejected it because they didn't think it would catch on in North America."

"Around 1986 when Bally made its hostile takeover of HBO and Cinemax from Time, Inc., Bewkes was the one who fought and won to keep Urusei Yatsura on the HBO lineup. At the time, Kirk Kerkorian and Robert Mullane were the two Bally executives who wanted UY off the air because they didn't understand the phenomenon, but Bewkes won them over when he provided proof of the show's high ratings for the network."

California judge throws out Roseanne Barr’s frivolous lawsuit to block ABC’s “Conners” spin-off.

In a bizarre development, Midway said in a statement that the proposed, unlicensed hockey video game “Hitz: The League” was never in serious production. Midway went on to say that they purposely leaked rough gameplay footage to use as leverage to strong arm the NHL into walking away from negotiations that would’ve granted EA Sports exclusive rights to use the real NHL teams and players. The unlicensed game would’ve featured exaggerated hockey violence, some of which could land players behind bars in real life, including karate kicking opponents in the face with skate blades.

Todd McFarlane agrees in principle to continue publishing his creator owned Spawn comic at Image Comics, which is now an imprint of Paramount Comics. In turn, when TBS+Paramount learned they did not actually own any characters that got their start at Image, they’ve had to scramble quickly to recruit public domain superheroes they could adapt as their own.

For something like this, they could have just created a phony hockey league for this game.

Sorry, boys. That kerfuffle's on me for thinking EC Comics meant Paramount bought the rights to DC Comics in a way ITTL when that was a discussion piece.

I fear that they tried pulling the show purely based on it's Japanese origin.

Cool developments.

But I wonder if Midway's gonna get in some trouble.

But I wonder if Midway's gonna get in some trouble.

Bally found that people who didnt have HBO at home were filling up motel vacancies in their own hometowns to watch the show.

Bally bought HBO because Kirk Kerkorian and other shareholders at the time wanted exclusive rights to have the network at only their hotels.

There was some sentiment among Bally's more conservative shareholders and a few Chicago mobsters on the Bally board that Urusei Yatsura was taking up airtime on Friday nights that could be utilized for Western content.

Bewkes pleaded his case by presenting the Bally brass with charts showing Urusei Yatsura's ratings from March 1983 through November 1985, proving that the show was the most popular of HBO's offerings aside from boxing on Saturday nights.

By the way, internet sleuths determined that it was on November 8, 1985 that Gus St. Pierre, then 7, first saw Urusei Yatsura with his Uncle Andre and his older half sisters Collette and Daphne when they spent the night at a Baton Rouge motel that had free HBO.

And it was the next day they went and saw the LSU football game against Alabama (dubbed the "Crimson Turds" in the Boudreaux household).

Nothing bad will happen to Midway. The unlicensed game will be scrapped in exchange for a renewal of the NHL license.

Part 2 of updated intros for Limited Run prints of the James Bond film series.
Like I said before, Paramount is adding its own logo, based on what they used in their own films in the same years as each Bond release.

The GoldenEye video game, previously released by Turner Interactive on the N64, is being remade for the Sega Scorpio by Paramount Games.

In 1999, Paramount tweaked the 1986 logo to make the stars bigger and reflect on the lake below. ITTL, this was around the time Microsoft was buying the studio. Also in 1999, United Artists brought back the "Swoosh" monogram when they released Varsity Blues.

2002 was when Paramount celebrated its 90th anniversary, tracing its history back to Adolph Zukor's Famous Players studio.

Of course, ITTL, the byline for the Paramount logo wouldn't actually be Viacom.
For Paramount's Limited Run prints of The World is Not Enough, Die Another Day and Casino Royale, the Paramount logo added for post-2009 Limited Run prints would have the Microsoft byline.

For Quantum of Solace, the first Bond to actually be released theatrically ITTL by Paramount, both the Paramount and UA logos would have a TBS+Paramount byline in corresponding fonts.

Cool! But I did put Danny at 10 to make some sort of a action block.

But this is perfect!

And given the movies and stuff coming out ITTL, I'll keep most of these ideas in mind for next year! I can't believe we're gonna be in 2010 soon(at least ITTL).
