Aftermath of Plan Rubber

Reasons don't matter why, but in 1942 the US feels like it has no choice but to launch Plan Rubber and seize a number of bases in northern Brazil. After some fighting the Brazilian government comes to a deal to stop the fighting just to stop the bloodshed as it sees no good choices forward.

Now we skip forward to 1946, the war is over and the US is withdrawing its forces from Brazil. What kind of effects does this have on the Brazilian people, nation, and political matters of the nation?

'The Girl from Ipanea' is not a hit song in the US. Might not even be written as this may reduce the influence of US Jazz & Blues on the emergence of Bossa Nova. In any case Brazilian musicians are less likely to have gigs in the US in the 1950s & 1960s..

There's gonna be anger, but I think there's still going to be record and radio and band playing on both sides during the war and occupation afterwards, including even some record swapping, dancing, etc.

This is what Calbear said about the plan rubber

"The U.S. didn't have enough forces under arms nor enough transportation to support the forces. It would be a matter of Brazil or ceding the entire SW Pacific to the Japanese or (more likely) having to postpone/cancel Torch.

The simple area that would need to be secured would be far too large for one or two divisions. It is a multiple Corps size operation, even against a mainly pure infantry Brazilian Army in opposition."

The plan Rubber was like the other contingency plans the US did, like the war plan gold or war plan black, and it wouldn't be applied

But if somehow the US invades Brazil, the new regime would be welcomed with open arms by the brazilian elite and only the most nationalist army officers would ever hope to face any invasion

You would see jokes between the upper classes like "At least our new dictator follow the american standard"
