... Considering Ghandi is in charge of the syndicalist portion of the three-way contention on the sub-continent, he might be a little less of a spaz with issues considering his gene father is considered a bad guy if this is a world where Syndacalism went down in flames, meaning he probably feels like he doesn't have a much to live up to.

The Siege

A 1999 TV Miniseries

The show begins at the start of the Second American Civil War as Red Guard militia units are overrunning New York City. Members of the National Guard and the hastily militarized NYPD are battling out in the streets against Red Guard militia units in the frozen streets of New York City. The National Guard and NYPD fight well against the Red Guard, inflicting many casualties against their foes, but eventually are forced to retreat from Manhattan and Long Island in the face of overwhelming enemy numbers. All bridges to the mainland are destroyed in the process, cutting NYC off. Taking around 20 minutes, this sequence is most famous for its showing of the initial outbreak of hostilities between the SPA and the US Federal Government, with Red Guard militia units facing down NYPD before a gunshot causes the situation to turn violent.

The series takes place from the perspective of Paul Ryan (Keanu Reeves) and Michael Rodrigez (Leonardo deCaprio). Paul Ryan is a corporal in the US Army stationed in Fort Lee around NYC involved in the initial violence in the city, covering for his squad with his Browning machine gun as they retreat across the George Washington Bridge. Michael Rodrigez is a Red Guard service member in Brooklyn who was part of the initial revolt in New York. After the initial action finishes, the show slows down to show both the SPA solidifying its control over New York. Rodrigez looks on as politicians and prominent businessmen not affiliated with the SPA are beaten and dragged through the streets for trial at a 'revolutionary tribune'. Businesses are sacked and raided by Red Guard militiamen as their owners are forced to watch.

In the meantime, Ryan is busy helping the construction of fortifications around Yonkers and dealing with the massive refugee crisis that the 2ACW, now 2 weeks in, has created. Around a campfire, Ryan tells the story of why he joined the military. His father worked as a clerk in an accounting firm in Chicago during the 20s, earning a modest living for his family to live off. During the Stock Crash of 1925 his father lost his job at his accounting firm, along with all of his personal savings. He was prevented from receiving International Red Aid due to his previous employment in an accounting firm, and was blacklisted from any jobs in the area. When Ryan turned 18, he joined the US Army to earn money for his family. His musings are interrupted, as we are informed that the CSA is attempting to break out of New York City.

The next episode details the CSA's attempts to get a beach head on the mainland in order to link up with forces in Pennsylvania before they are completely pushed out of reach of NYC. Michael is part of the initial landing group, reaching the shore via boat during the dead of night. Their attempts are repulsed by Federal forces, in no small part due to the arrival of artillery from the south. Michael is forced to travel by boat back to NYC, being shot in the leg during the retreat. The next episode opens with Michael in a crowded hospital filled with other wounded soldiers. There is not enough medical equipment for everyone in New York City by this point, as the naval blockade of New York and the isolation of New York from any other Syndicalist forces prevents them from receiving resupplies. Bandages are being reused at an alarming rate, and even alcohol to dull the pain is running low. Rats are now a staple diet of New Yorkers, 2 months into the siege. In the meantime, people are being executed by Red Guard militiamen at an astonishing rate, as the local Red Guard commander, a devote follower of Browder, sees the need to remove any potential threats to the regime. Ryan on the other hand is bored out of his mind, having to sit and watch New York get pummeled by artillery.

The shows last episode takes place during the final days of the Siege of New York, as the CSA attempts one final breakthrough through Federal lines. Michael, barely recovered from his leg wound, is given an empty rifle with a bayonet and told to help the defense of New York. Fighting is brutal and even enters the tunnels below New York as the Syndicalists desperately try to escape the hell New York has become.

In the final scene of the film, Alf Landon gives a speech in front of the Statue of Liberty praising the efforts of Federal forces in New York City.

The film was praised by critics for its accurate portrayal of the Siege of New York and the Second American Civil War at large.

A screencap from the 1990 Canadian/German blockbuster, Hunt for the Red November. A Kalterkrieg spy thriller, the plot follows an American submarine captain of the aforementioned Red November named Marcus Renfield (William Shatner) who wishes to defect from the Totalist CSA. When his government learns the truth, they try to present him as a rouge agent, hoping that their enemies would help kill him. In the German Empire, a military analyst name Jacob Reinhart (David Hasselhoff) correctly deduces Marcus' intentions, and it becomes a race against time to save the captain and prevent another Weltkrieg.

The film was a financial success and remains a cult classic to this day.

Originally a book cover, but now that I think about it it would also work very well as a Documentary movie poster. Every Man a king tells the tale of America post Longist victory.

Although the Long dynasty are no longer the hereditary rulers of the US since the death of Earl Long, the Longs, and the “Longist thought” in general continue to dominate the America First Party and the American political scene as a whole. Long’s brand of pseudo-socialist, authoritarian populism has kind of become the “default setting” for American politicians, with the liberal democratic policies of parties like the Farmer Labour and the progressive democrats being viewed as a relic of a bygone and failed system that almost brought America to ruin.

What would everyday life be like this Longist America? Would it be any better then OTL?

It’s a mixed bag. There’s a lot more “direct” corruption like you’d find in some Arab nations today (I’m Arab btw, not being casually racist lmao), but at the same time there is a much more robust public welfare system with European style healthcare and subsidies to education and vital commodities such as gas, electricity and certain food staples.

So all in all if you’re an average joe, you’ll find you’re able to buy a lot more groceries with you money than IRL, but your chances of moving up in the world or just having your voice genuinely heard by the government is almost none existent.

If you’re a super rich dude you’ll be forced to play ball with the government and let them wet their beak in whatever business you’re running but at the same time youl’re pretty much immune form anything as long as they like you.

And if you’re a politician, we’ll, you have to either be part of the government or of the “approved” opposition, other than that you’ll never really achieve anything of note.

The sweet spot would be right in the middle where you’re a small to medium sized business owner, you’ll be making enough money to live large but too little to get noticed by the government and can buy protection from any kind of legal/government harassment that might come your way.

Would Lincoln still be in the main cast? Not sure about JFK being in the main cast, tbh.

There would certainly be a more robust welfare system for sure, but I'd bet that government corruption would dampen most of the benefits that would provide. Public and affordable housing is certainly a boon, but if the construction contracts to build them were mired in corruption and faulty materials, it gets balanced out. If the healthcare products that doctors give to patients are faulty, or the doctors incompetent because they gave a bribe to become a doctor, it gets balanced out. Given the authoritarian system that Long propagates, there would be little to no way to hold people accountable for it, unlike a democratic USA, PSA, or CSA. I'd imagine that come any major economic or political upheaval in Longist America, the house of cards built up by Long would collapse in a heartbeat.

Kaiserreich version of these guys?

IDK. Guess let's try going on without him. It was nice talking with him.
I checked out his history, he got banned for posting pictures of Hailee Steinfeld in one of the forums, not naked or inappropriate pictures or anything like that, but apparently they banned him for that. Let's try to keep going but lets face it he started this place and was it's most active users, and from what I see there are barely 6 people posting around here, so uh, this place is more likely to wither on the vine from now on.

A scene from the Prussian 1990 movie "Das verlorene Paradies" (Paradise Lost), often called the greatest anti-war movie ever made and usually topping the lists for most disturbing movie ever made.

The movie tells the story of "Stefan" the young son of German flying ace, the movie opens up on the final days of the siege of Berlin right before Russian forces finally broke in. Stefan and his family escape to Mittleafrika with the Kaiser and his loyalist, but once in Africa, the Kaiser dies, Von Goring runs away with the money meant to pay the soldiers, and mittleafrika collapses amid a flood of rebelling natives and German soldiers turned bandits. The movie shows the sheer ugliness of war and the hell that a previously normal child like Stefan has to live through because of the war, never shying away from showing even the most depraved and horrible sides of humanity, from the native slaves/workers rebelling, massacring the local garrison and burning down his family's brand new estate in the process, leading to his separation from his mother among the chaos, to him being forcibly recruited by a group of German officers to help them "fight for the fatherland and bring order back to Mittleafrika" aka: Attacking innocent native villages and tribes and putting their people through the worst kinds of abuse and hell in the process.

By the end of the movie, Stefan has aged beyond his years, he's already a broken "veteran" of the 2WK roaming the jungle on his own after his group of soldiers fragged their officer and escaped into the night, he's finally picked up by a South African volunteer unit that brings him back to South Africa for safety along with another group of surviving German children where he's finally safely housed in a church run orphanage, to broken to ever be able to join the "normal" world ever again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The movie was made by a team from the Moscow Accord member and German successor state Prussia and shot almost entirely within the Republic of Ostafrika. It received a wide global release, being one of the few "capitalist made" movies to be allowed into the 3rd International and breaking box office records in both its native Prussia and in the German Union (syndie Germany), and it's success is credited with creating a new wave of the anti-war movement and calls for reconciliation and normalization of relations between the 3I, Moscow Accord and the North American Treaty Organisation.

Another netflix post, this time with more "popular" action and superhero movies and shows, hope y'all like it, also ignore the fact that the title of the Spider-Punk movie is "london calling" but it clearly shows new york in the background.
So given that Justified is about a member of the Minuteman militia, I'm guessing this is from a TL where the AUS won the civil war? Given that the Union of Britain appears to still be a thing, is the Third Internationale still around?

Yeah, the 2ACW actually ended after the 2WK so the US missed the whole thing. The world has 3 major alliances (and a couple of small ones), The Moscow Accord, The 3rd International, and the Entente (which is led by the US and consists mostly of the US, Mexico, Canada and what remains of the British empire after France, Portugal, Italy and Sardinia fell to the 3I during the 2WK)

Interesting, so I'm guessing there's a three-way cold war of sorts between France, the Russian State, and the AUS? How democratic are France and America by the 21st Century?

Well, given that France is syndie, democracy in it works a little different than it does IRL, all power is in the hands of the unions and the central committee if you want to make change you have to do it through your union, you know, usual syndie stuff. Also the totalist charter, although it failed to outright control the 3I during the 2WK, is still alive and well, both Mosley and Mussolini won their countries’ post war elections, and although neither of them became “chairmen for life” the fact that they oversaw the post war reconstruction era, an era that naturally had a major economic boom, meant they managed to build a pretty loyal and stable base.

The US didn’t really regain its democracy and free elections until after Huey’s death, with his brother Earl holding free elections after his 2nd term as president. That being said, Long’s style of Popular-socialism and nationalism still reigns supreme and the AFP continues to dominate most elections.

While America is now kinda democratic, some “important” races in key states are always rigged for the sake of “national security” also the minutemen and the “Share Our Wealth” committee continue to wield a lot of power over the government, and lastly, corruption is kind of rampant now, but not to the point that it’s hindering the government from being effective.

One of the main examples of this “little corruption” is what people jokingly dubbed the “open drawer policy”, where if for example you headed to your local DHS building to let’s say renew your ID card, the small time employee who handles your files will be sitting at his desk, and in the middle of looking over your papers he’ll simple open his desk’s top drawer, this is a signal for you to put some cash (usually somewhere between 20-50 bucks) in there as a blatant bribe. If you do that, then things will move along normally, if you don’t, well, then your file might accidentally get lost, or pushed to the bottom of the line or “oops, looks like you forgot to bring in application X-12ehtjr, I’m afraid you’ll have to get that, fill it out and have it signed and then come back and start the whole process over again”
