Hey guys I've just came across this video on Youtube about the 3DO, apparently a couple years ago someone actually managed to get a port of the Original Tomb Raider game running on it. The port actually runs surprisingly well too. Seems the 3DO was a bit more capable with 3D then I thought...
Now that both the Sega CD and SNES-CD have been released in Japan in TTL it makes me wonder how they compare to the OTL 3DO or OTL Atari Jaguar? They seem pretty comparable those two console's to me. Make's me wonder if Trip Hawkins will even bother releasing the 3DO in TTL.🤔
In the website page you linked here in the first quote it's stated it used a 6 round clip. That was like the only major thing I remembered about that obscure rifle. :coldsweat:
IIRC not quite, their using a native design derived from the Mannlicher Schonauer with the major change being a 6 round En-bloc clip magazine similar to the M1 Garand chambered in the 7x51 (.276) Pedersen round.
I'm not sure TTL's Sega CD/Mega CD would have the same color limitations it's OTL counterpart had. It's got a much more capable CPU, Audio System and more RAM then it's OTL counterpart. I wouldn't be surprised if it's GPU was moderately to considerably more capable as well.
Yeah that argument does make a lot of sense, good point. Sega and Sony likely got a year give or take a couple of months before Nintendo and Phillips launch their own CD add-on hardware. Sega and Sony would be smart to take advantage of that as best they can while the have the chance.
SubparLario you forgot to state what year in North America the Mega CD/Sega CD launch's, it looks like you intended to for it to be 1992 judging by it's Japanese and EU launch dates. Otherwise great update to the timeline, I already wish we got this version of the Mega CD/Sega CD in OTL. XD
Hey Sirenthedog07 I think you might find this website interesting as it's got a bunch of in depth architecture breakdowns on various game consoles from the Famicom/NES and Master System to the 3DS and Wii-U. https://www.copetti.org/writings/consoles/
